Rainy days and droughts

It started raining last night in the Dallas area, and it has continued through this afternoon. That means the meteorologists will point out later today that we're still in the middle of a huge drought.

"We got a lot of rain today, but not enough to put a dent in this drought," they will say.

I'm not sure what it will take to pull us out of the drought. Perhaps 40 days and nights of rain. But even if all the animals start pairing up and heading off with a guy named Noah, I think we'll still have water restrictions.

On a related note, here is the column I wrote on potential future water restrictions.
