Security checkpoints

My stay in San Antonio was quite soggy. It didn't stop raining the whole time, although the "whole time" was about 24 hours.

The best part of the trip was the security screener at D/FW Airport who was frustrated by the people coming through the security checkpoint on Saturday. "People, remember ... look at the signs," she said in a tone part exasperated, part condescending.

Ma'am, the people are trying. But they've only got one pair of eyes, and those are focused on their carry-on bag, laptop computer, jacket, shoes, small Ziploc baggy filled with liquids under three ounces, keys and cell phone that are going through the X-ray machine.

I'm surprised more stuff doesn't get lost. Maybe that security screener will get lost on the way to the airport today, providing a dose of good cheer for travelers coming through D/FW.

I too faced security screeners this holiday season. I am constantly amazed at the level of security that won't allow you to take 4 ounces of shampoo, but lets the mace get through...oh, and the knitting needles. Go figure. Everyone pay attention...I am going to wash the pilot's hair until he turns this plane around and gets me out of Denver.
