So why a Humor Me blog?

Hmm … an excellent question, and I’m somewhat prepared for it.

Well, the good folks at The Dallas Morning News (DallasNews.com) asked me to do it. And I like to follow their instructions, because they allow me to write for the newspaper and eat regularly.

Also, I couldn’t pass up the chance to be Global Blog No. 37,000,000. Unfortunately, I decided to have a soda before writing my first entry, so I think I’m number 37,000,001.

The blog also gives me a chance to pass along my thoughts/observations/disorientations on a daily basis. Hopefully it will fill in the gaps between my weekly humor column and newsletter, which currently goes out to 1 million people (rounded up to the nearest million).
