Party all the time, Eddie style

APIt's interesting that after years of doing movies, Eddie Murphy is getting the most recognition for his role as a singer in "Dreamgirls." Before seeing this movie, you might think this would be a scary role for him.

After all, one of the most lampooned parts of his public life was when he announced he was giving up comedy for a singing career. Soon after, we all suffered through his song, "Party all the time." (OK, at first we liked it, but then we were ashamed).

Maybe the success of "Dreamgirls" will encourage Murphy to make a comeback. He'll have to do it without the writer and producer of his first hit, however, because "Super Freak" Rick James has passed on.

Here's a flash back to 1985's "Party all the time." Man, the '80s were great.
