Lefty is all right

Did you know James Garfield was the first lefthanded president of the United States? Or that in Mary Poppins, Dick Van Dyke drew chalk pictures on the sidewalk with his left hand?

If you had my trivia calendar for lefthanders, you would. It's one of the many products for lefties that I've received over the years. I haven't actually asked for any of these, but apparently any lefthander would love to have them.

You know, kind of like any sports fan would love to have that ridiculous-looking football phone Sports Illustrated gave away years ago.

Anyway, today's column is on left-handedness, so I hope everyone is all right with it. Thanks to everyone who signed up for the free Humor Me newsletter last week.

As a fellow lefty, I enjoyed the Humor Me article in the March 26th edition of the paper. I'm also a 4th grade teacher and I always look to see how many of my students are also lefties. I had one this year, but she moved a month ago. My Mom's a lefty born in the 40s and her teacher tried to change her, but my grandmother wouldn't let her. Thank goodness we've come a long way since then.

Hilarious. I don't know if lefties are special, but if it gets me into the party, I'll agree.
