'The Game Plan' is cruddy? No way!

Buena Vista Pictures

I've been seeing this billboard for The Game Plan for more than a month, and I always thought the look on the face of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was perfect. I figured it would probably sum up the way he felt about being in this movie when it came out.

I first saw the trailer for it several months ago, and it wasn't funny. Always a bad sign when the hand-picked best moments of a comedy aren't funny.

It's also great that this is a kids movie and here is the premise:

A football player who didn't know he had an 8-year-old daughter suddenly has to take care of her because -- yay for parents! -- her mom has gone to Africa to do charity work for a month.

Great line in the review:

"If you buy any of this, you may already be the victim of a Nigerian bank e-mail scam."

Note to The Rock's agent. Your client is a likable guy with talent and charisma. Find something for him that's better than a lazy retread family movie that's been done about a dozen times.
