Hulk Hogan is ready for 'Gladiators'

AP

Hulk Hogan is going to host the new version of "American Gladiators."

A press release was e-mailed to me yesterday, assuring me that, yes, I'm still on way too many lists for press releases. It also informed me that Craig Plestis has a really long job title:

Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, Development and Specials, NBC Entertainment.

"Hulk Hogan is an American icon," Plestis said in the release. "For over twenty years he has been a symbol of strength and toughness in all facets of entertainment. His electrifying personality will no doubt inspire Herculean efforts from our everyday challengers. There is no one more qualified to host this program."

And, of course, the qualifications for hosting a low-budget reality show truly are quite high. We learned that a few years ago when Monica Lewinsky hosted "Mr. Personality" on Fox.

If this doesn't work out, maybe Hulk can get a job at Ric Flair Financial.
