Welcome to Scotland ... where's my check?

Scotland is replacing its airport signs that proclaim it "the best small country in the world" with its new slogan:

"Welcome to Scotland."

The country didn't pay someone to come up with that, did it?

The new slogan, which was revealed Tuesday after six months of development and $250,000 spent on the project ...

That's a quarter-million well spent. Not surprisingly, the new slogan has some critics.

"It all fails to convey the spirit of the place, the emotion," one person said. "If the purpose of branding is to create an emotional connection, they're not doing that."

At least it's welcoming.
