A teenager's car insurance tab: More than $100,000
A woman in Edmonton got an insurance rewenal notice that raised her annual premium from about $15,000 to $104,566.63.
And it wasn't a typo. Turns out she has a 19-year-old son who she says has a "tendency to speed."
The 19-year-old got his first car at age 16. His license was suspended twice. Since May 2005 he has received 10 speeding tickets, and has been in two minor "fender benders" and a rear-ender that totaled his car.
Sounds like the insurance company is performing a public service.
