Gift cards: Uninspired, but effective
Hello frantic shoppers. Only 18 shopping days left until Christmas.
Of course, you can always wait until Dec. 24 and just buy a gift card. Some people think they are impersonal, but I don't have a problem with them.
You just can't give them to everyone. For example, my wife and I share a bank account, so if I buy a gift card for her, this is the message:
"Honey, you have my permission to spend 100 bucks at Bed, Bath & Beyond."
That's right, little woman, I am allowing you to spend money. I certainly hopes this fills you with the Christmas spirit.
