Recovering from the White Rock Marathon
I finished the White Rock Marathon yesterday. Yes, I finished the marathon along with many weary runners who had made it through 26.2 miles.
Of course, I only ran the last 6.2 miles. The other members of my relay team did the first 20, getting me close enough to the finish line so I wouldn't collapse before getting there.
When I got home, my 5-year-old son asked me if I had won the race.
When I told him no, he seemed disappointed.
"Did you finish ahead of more than 10 people?" Ryan asked.
I told him yes.
"Did the man who won have longer legs than you, and is that why he won?" he then asked.
I told him that many people finished ahead of me, and I don't think all of them had longer legs than me.
Ryan then told me that I need to learn to move my legs faster. He's a tremendous personal trainer.
