Scotland's national sport: Binge drinking
Binge drinking has become Scotland's national sport, according to a government official there.
"Scotland has a huge cultural problem with alcohol," he said. "It's never more evident than around Christmas and New Year when getting drunk can feel and look like the national sport."
He makes a good point. But I don't think we can officially call it a national sport until there is a national championship involved. Or at least four dozen bowl games, controversial rankings and commentators who must get a sponsor in every 20 seconds.
But there is hope for a national inebriation championship. Anything is possible.
