Ukulele concert marathon

Looking for a unique personal challenge for 2008?

Well, don't try playing a ukulele concert every day of the year. It's already been done.

Somehow, a 27-year-old woman has been doing this all year and her incredible quest has flown under the news radar. I only discovered it in this story that mentions she had played venues in New York, Nova Scotia and at the Edinburgh festival.

What's amazing to me is that there is enough appetite for ukulele music to have a concert every day of the year. Hey, wait a second ... some of these concerts were at very modest venues.

Some of her performances were notched up in her living room, where the audience consisted of her pet cat - who does not like ukulele music.

Tremendous. I can't wait for her to release the 200-disc live box set.

Ukulele Eilidh (aka Eilidh MacAskill) and her daily ceilidh rock!

She's also a very nice person, not just talented.
