First Baby of 2008 is late
My prediction that the first North Texas birth of 2008 would be one minute into the new year didn't come true, but I was close:
A Fort Worth couple won the honor at 12:02 on Tuesday morning.
It was the first time since 2004 that the Dallas-Fort Worth area went more than a minute into the new year without having a baby born. In 2006, there were three babies born at 12:01.
If you're looking for a very unscientific theory as to why, here is my column, "New year's: Baby, it's you."
